Hawkswood Student and his Brother Achieve Eagle Scout Rank

Hawkswood student Robert Scott and his brother Alexander prepare to be awarded Eagle Scout rank togetherWhen brothers Robert and Alexander Scott are honored next week for achieving the Boy Scout Eagle rank, their accomplishment will be a meaningful one for members of Troop 70 at the First United Methodist Church in Oakhurst, New Jersey.

Robert is a participant in Family Resource Association’s collaborative Independent Living Connections program offered at the Hawkswood School.

Alexander, who is known as Sandy, “demonstrated a tremendous amount of leadership in the troop,” passing along a lot of knowledge as a patrol leader, troop guide and senior patrol leader, said Pete Lauria, the troop’s committee chairman.

“Robert was kind of an inspiration to everyone,” Lauria said. “He’s very persistent. If he had an objective in mind, he achieved that objective.
